Focusing on abstract painting, the process is led by the materials and by the physical act of mark making. Sometimes combining dance and movement whilst painting, the forms emerge spontaneously, unplanned with no expectations or preconceptions. Each line is highly personal, sometimes hesitant or uncertain, sometimes dynamic, joyous and life affirming.

My visual practice also includes a constant practice of drawing. I think observational drawing is key to visual creativity. It is also a meditation, and the forms I discover in my observational drawing interact with my abstract work. My preferred subject is people: the nude human form, as well as portraits, the human face. I love life drawing because it captures a real moment in time, and perhaps also because I love people.
